How to use these dates
Start from the table, drop any day that clashes with your zodiac animal, then check the practical things: venue, travel, the family calendar. Many families also ask an elder or a 择日 master to check against each person’s bazi (八字). You can check a single day in our auspicious-date finder or read the full 宜/忌 for any day in the calendar.

Are there good opening dates on a weekend in May 2028?
Yes: Sunday, May 28, 2028; Saturday, May 6, 2028.
Which days in May 2028 should be avoided for opening a business?
The almanac lists 开市 as inauspicious (忌) on 10 days: Mon May 1, Sun May 7, Sat May 13, Mon May 15, Wed May 17, Sun May 21, Mon May 22, Sat May 27, Mon May 29, Tue May 30.
How are these dates chosen?
Each day is checked in the traditional Chinese almanac: it must list 开市 among the day's favorable activities (宜) and not among its taboos (忌), and it must not be a Break (破) day or a day marked 诸事不宜. Days on the Yellow Path (黄道), with favorable day officers or blessing stars rank higher. A day that clashes (冲) with your own zodiac animal should be skipped.
